Farming is an energy intensive industry. Heating outbuildings, fueling farm equipment, transporting goods to market and other activities require energy, raising cost of production and diminishing the sustainability of New Hampshire farms. New Hampshire farmers need and want to integrate sustainable energy strategies on their farms but they often find available information overwhelming, contradictory and not geared to their particular needs.
