Master Gardener Program Classes Offered
Do you love gardening and sharing your gardening experience with others?
Consider becoming a Master Gardener volunteer for University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension to share gardening knowledge and experience and educate individuals and communities.A personal commitment to volunteerism, enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and an interest in plants and gardening with others are the only prerequisites. The educational component of the Master Gardener Volunteer
Program consists of 13 weeks in a classroom setting with hands-on activities.
Instructors provide an overview of major horticulture subjects; environmentally
sound gardening practices; food safety and preservation; and issues affecting NH
residents and home owners. To become a Master Gardener, graduates volunteer
45 hours at the Education Center information line in Manchester answering questions from the public.
The Winter/Spring 2012 class will begin Thursday, February 2, at the Hillsborough
County Office in Goffstown, New Hampshire. Classes are 9:00-4:00 each Thursday
through April 26. Applications are due January 6, 2012. Class size is limited
and fills up quickly so register early!
