New Hampshire Farm Museum
The New Hampshire Farm Museum consists of two adjoining farmstead properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is located on Plummer’s Ridge in Milton, New Hampshire. Two acres of the 50 acre property is being farmed. The remainder of the land consists of fields, woodlands, and buildings. Two historic houses, barns, blacksmith, shoe shops and a cider mill along with agricultural and rural life exhibits are open to the public.
The museum’s working farm, transitioning toward producing organic produce, is selling a variety of vegetables, including some heirloom varieties, are available in the museum’s Country Store and at the Wakefield Farmer’s Market on Saturdays. Free range chicken eggs are for sale on a first come first served basis. A stable of heritage breed animals is under development.
The museum hosts special events, programs, and workshops as part of its mission to preserve, understand, and carry forward New Hampshire’s agricultural history.
