Heidi Bartlett, of Bartlett’s Blueberry Farm in Newport, New Hampshire, calls this slightly adapted recipe a “breakfast bake” but it makes a delicious dessert.     Using hot milk cuts back on bread soaking time before baking.

According to the New Hampshire Maple Producers Association, the maple industry  produces close to  90,000 gallons of syrup per year. The sugaring season runs from mid-February to mid-April.
